Electronic publication

Introduction to electronic publication

In recent years, there has been a trend away from hard copy manuals in favour of electronic publication. Documentation in electronic format offers the flexibility that it can be published and distributed anywhere - on web sites, corporate servers or CD-ROM - at a fraction of the traditional cost.

Examples of documentation that software developers publish electronically are:

Installation, implementation and end-user guides. These are typically distributed on CD-ROM, usually with your software application.

System specifications, internal policies and procedures. These may be made available to staff through your company intranet.

Knowledge base information. These may be published on a help server that users can access via their web.

At Armada, we have significant experience of publishing end user documentation electronically using a combination of HTML (including DHTML and JavaScript) and PDF.

We can take source files in most mainstream WP and DTP formats, or even work from hard copy.
